IKN Rental Mobil covers vehicle hire around Nusantara, the new Indonesian capital in East Kalimantan, and the Balikpapan–Samarinda corridor that serves it.
A corridor that changes faster than its maps
Ground transport around the IKN development is not a settled market. Access routes open and close with construction phases, some areas require a permit or an escort to enter at all, and the practical journey time from Balikpapan airport to a given site can change month to month. Our route pages therefore carry a check date and state which segment is toll road, which is under construction, and which is unsealed. A number without a date is not useful here.
Where the access and permit information comes from
Zone access rules and site-entry requirements are traced to the Nusantara Capital Authority and to the contractor controlling a given site rather than to general news coverage, which frequently describes an intention rather than a current rule. Where we cannot confirm whether an area is open to a private hire vehicle, we say it is unconfirmed and advise arranging clearance in advance.
What we do not claim
We are a vehicle hire desk, not an authority on the development and not a permit agent. We publish no driver’s licence details, years of service or individual credentials on this site, and we make no claim to privileged site access.
Checking whether a route is open
Access changes with the construction phase. Ask through the contact page before you assume a road is usable.
